-6th December, 2008- The 2007
Barrel Selection Roussanne is picked by Jane Macquitty in her list of Top
100 Winter Wines. Saturday Times Magazine. "...already well known by
Times readers for it sub-£6 bottles. These barrel-aged wines are worth
paying extra for- this roussanne, a rhone variety, delivers all manner of
exotic, burnt, buttery, peach and almost pepperminty spice."
- 15th November, 2008- The
2007 Soleil du Sud receives
accolades as Wine of the Week from Mathew Jukes in his Saturday 15th November
Daily Mail column. "Taking a leaf out of the Aussie book, the French prove
that these two noble grapes can work wonders, and this time with massive power
and chocolatey intensity. Decant this wine, then sit back and soak up the
action in the glass."

-1st November, 2008- The Domaine Sainte Rose
Le Mistral Merlot is recommended by the
Irish Times. "It has a deep purple appearance with an initial palate of
complex black fruits, spice and hints of pepper leaving the palate with hints of
chocolate and mocha. The soft, ripe tannins make this an extremely enjoyable
glass of wine. Perfect with your Sunday roast. "
-21 October, 2008- The Wine Gang, give the
La Nuit Blanche/Barrel
Selection Roussanne 89/100 points. "Leesy, fresh and complex with a
whiff of Mediterranean herbs and spices."

-August 1st, 2008- The infamous 2008 Guide Hachette highly
recommends the Domaine Sainte Rose Le Pinacle
Syrah 2005, giving 2 out of 3 stars! "This vintage climbs to new
summits. On the nose, perfumed black berries meet sweet spice and finely
measured oak. Ample and round with accents of vanilla."
-June 14th, 2008- Jane Macquitty writes up the
2007 Nuit Blanche Roussanne (also
known as the Barrel Selection Roussanne) in her Top 100 Summer Wines article
which appeared in the June 14th, Saturday Times. "...hit the spot. Made
from night-harvested grapes, this is a terrific, nutty, lemon and
apricot-stacked, French oak-aged white of real distinction."
-June 1st, 2008- Giles Kime writes up
Le Soleil du Sud in his "100
Best Summer Wines" article, which appeared in the 1st June Sunday Telegraph.
"This wine combines the glossiness of cabernet with the spiciness of Syrah-
qualities that make it a great partner to grilled meat. Made in the
Languedoc by a British Couple, Charles and Ruth Simpson, it's a great example of
the new generation of beautifully-made, world-class wines that are being made in
the South of France".

Roussanne in 26th April Daily Mail. "Made from the
roussanne grape, this is full, ripe, honeyed and crammed with greengage,
nectarine and lime notes, as well as boasting a very long finish. It has
enough oomph to handle both the pie and the roast- along with gravy, too."
-March 15th, 2008- Anthony Rose writes up the
2006 Soleil du Sud in his March
15th article in The Independent newspaper. "...wines of the quality of the
aromatic, smooth and richly blackcurranty 2006 Soleil du Sud!"
-February 18th-20th, 2008- Vinisud!

- February 11th, 2008- Domaine Sainte Rose receives recognition
for its 2006 Barrel Selection Roussanne in
Terre de Vins. 16/20 "Shows power and restraint. The nose is discreet and
floral. Perfume of rose, fresh pineapple and honey. This delicate structure is
supported by a more oily texture with flavours of sugared almonds, yellow fruits
and mild spices. This juice was carefully vinified and aged in oak barrels. We
matched this wine with sparerib of pork and Pardailhan turnips."
