Colour- Wines are usually classified as red, white or rosé.
Subtleties within these broad colour groups are also often expressed.
Red Descriptions: The colour of young red wines can vary from
blackish purple through to crimson and ruby. With age, red wines take on a
brick and then amber hues.
White Descriptions: White wines will range in colour from pale green
through to straw, pale copper and deep gold to amber.
Rosé Descriptions: Rosé wines vary significantly in hue and intensity.
They are often referred to in variations of pink.
