-April 26th, 2008- Matthew Jukes writes up the 2007 La Nuit Blanche/Barrel Selection Roussanne in 26th April Daily Mail. "Made from the roussanne grape, this is full, ripe, honeyed and crammed with greengage, nectarine and lime notes, as well as boasting a very long finish.  It has enough oomph to handle both the pie and the roast- along with gravy, too."

-March 15th, 2008- Anthony Rose writes up the 2006 Soleil du Sud in his March 15th article in The Independent newspaper.  "...wines of the quality of the aromatic, smooth and richly blackcurranty 2006 Soleil du Sud!"

- February 11th, 2008- Domaine Sainte Rose receives recognition for its 2006 Barrel Selection Roussanne in Terre de Vins. 16/20 "Shows power and restraint. The nose is discreet and floral. Perfume of rose, fresh pineapple and honey. This delicate structure is supported by a more oily texture with flavours of sugared almonds, yellow fruits and mild spices. This juice was carefully vinified and aged in oak barrels. We matched this wine with sparerib of pork and Pardailhan turnips."

- January 4th, 2008- Domaine Sainte Rose will be participating in the 2008 Vinisud Exhibition in Montpellier, France. Feb 18th - 20th;  Stand Number: 1C17

- December, 2007- Seasons greetings from all of us at Sainte Rose.

-October 25th, 2007- Domaine Sainte Rose prepares to bottle its first Sauvignon Blanc, Les Montagnes et Mer, in a screwcap format.  This will be the first wine bottled under screw cap for the Domaine.  The wine will be available on 21st November.

- September 21st, 2007- Jancis Robinson, MW picks Le Pinacle Syrah 2005 as one of her dozen favourite reds in her article entitled "France's handcrafted, hidden treasures".  This article appears in the Financial Times.

- September 17th-19th, 2007 Domaine Sainte Rose picks its Cabernet Sauvignon.

- September 17th, 2007 Domaine Sainte Rose picks its Syrah.

- September 11th-12th, 2007 Domaine Sainte Rose picks its Roussanne.

- September 10th, 2007 The Barrel Selection Merlot receives a Bronze Medal in the 2007 Decanter World Wine Awards. "Intense yet elegant.  Fresh plum fruit.  Olive and ripe fruit on the finish.  Dry.  Good length."

- September 8th, 2007- Matthew Jukes writes up the 2006 Barrel Selection Roussanne (also known as La Nuit Blanche Roussanne) in the Daily Mail.  "...a spectacular and rare Roussanne from a gorgeous southern French property owned by an adventurous Brit couple.  This 100 per cent Roussanne is one of the year's most remarkable wines.  The utterly delicious honey, lime juice and pear and fruit is amazingly complex and ethereal.  Perfect with 'meatier' fish and richer, creamy sauces, this is an unmissable wine." 

- September 7th, 2007- Domaine Sainte Rose picks its Grenache.

- August 29th, 2007- Domaine Sainte Rose picks its Merlot.

- August 16th, 2007- Domaine Sainte Rose picks its first vintage of Muscat.

- August 16th, 2007- Domaine Sainte Rose picks its Chardonnay.

- August 15th, 2007- Domaine Sainte Rose picks its first vintage of Sauvignon Blanc!

- June 17th, 2007- Tim Atkin of The Observer "Six VDPs to get the Aussies on the run.  The biggest surprise in 2007 (Top 100VDPs) was the top whites.  The rich, toasty, citrus-like 2004 Domaine Sainte Rose Barrel Selection Roussanne...is an amazing wine.  Tasting whites like these, I think it's the Australians, not the French, who should worry."

- June 6th, 2007: The 2003 Le Pinacle Syrah and 2003 Barrel Selection Merlot pick up awards in the 2007 Decanter World Wine Awards.

- June 3rd, 2007: Irish Times wine writer, Joe Breen, writes up the Barrel Selection Roussanne and La Garrigue in the Irish Times Magazine.

- May 8th, 2007: Domaine Sainte Rose is delighted to announce that its Barrel Selection Roussanne has been selected as the Roussanne Trophy Winner in the Top 100 Vins de Pays of France 2007!  100 winners from 1,115 entries were selected with only 16 Trophies being awarded. "Full-on toasty, buttery oak, hint of cedar.  Textured, rich and complex with lemony, citrussy acidity giving a zesty lime finish."

 

-May 7th, 2007-Jancis Robinson MW adds Domaine Sainte Rose to her list of Leading producers of the Languedoc.  Click here to read more.

-March 19th, 2007-A planting project that began two years ago has reached its conclusion.  In total an additional 10 hectares were planted comprising of Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat, Marsanne, Syrah, Mourvedre, and Petit Verdot.

-March 10th, 2007- The '05 La Garrigue has been picked as Jane MacQuitty's Star buys in the 10th March Times Newspaper. "Charles and Ruth Simpson have made a success of their move to the Midi as this Sainte Rose duo proves: this velvety red, a blend of syrah and grenache, is thick with full, ripe herby, peppery fruit."

-March 10th, 2007- The '05 Le Vent du Nord has been picked as Jane MacQuitty's Star buys in the 10th March Times Newspaper. "The Rhone is roussanne's home, where its heavy fruit and flavour can overwhelm, but further south in the Midi and lightened with chardonnay, the result is enticing, exotic peach and waxy fruit."

-March 9th, 2007  - The '03 Barrel Selection Merlot receives accolades in the March, 2007 edition of Waitrose Wine Direct. "This wine, made by a British couple living in the Languedoc region in the South of France, is on of those rare and delicious parcels of wine that we wish was always on the wines list.  Since purchasing the estate in 2002, Charles and Ruth Simpson have created some amazing wines and are gaining accolades from around the world.  This Merlot is from the special 'barrel selection', meaning it has been aged in-barrel and was made from carefully selected top-quality grapes.  The result is a very elegant Merlot with aromas of cassis and liquorice and a palate full of ripe plums and damson fruit."
 

- March 6th, 2007- Domaine Sainte Rose is pleased to announce the return of La Vie en Rose rosé.  The wine will be bottled on 7th March and will available immediately.

-March, 2007- The 2004 Barrel Selection Roussanne was given 4 stars by Decanter in their March 2007 issue: “Rich, creamy, exotic nose.  Juicy, tangy fruit on the palate with notes of mandarin.  Long, fresh and interesting.  Up to 2009!”

- February 1st, 2007- Domaine Sainte Rose appoints Leigh Sparrow as head winemaker.

- January 27th, 2007- Anthony Rose of The Independent recommends the Domaine Sainte Rose, Barrel Selection Roussanne.  "An intense and oak-fermented southern French dry white with distinctive mineral undertones and lightly honeyed richness."
