-August 29th, 2010- Domaine Sainte Rose picks Sauvignon Blanc.

- August 18th, 2010- The 2010 vintage gets underway with the Chardonnay.

-August 16th, 2010- All things going to plan the 2010 Vintage should start this week!

-July 24th, 2010- Le Marin Blanc was mentioned in Jane Macquitty's Saturday Times article 'This Week's best buys'. "A good dry white, part oak-fermented summer buffet bottle with tasty, oaky, Rhonesque flavours.

- July 6th, 2010- Domaine Sainte Rose has had continued success in the Concours des Vins Blanc de Saint Aphrodise 2010, which aims to promote interesting white wines produced in the Languedoc. In the initial round, Le Coq d'Oc White 2009 won a gold medal and thus went forward to the International tasting final held at Vinopolis in London last week. There it came second and had a special prize created for it.  At the same tasting the Barrel Selection Roussanne 2009 won the top prize offered by the Beziers Méditerrenée Oenopole.

- May 22nd, 2010Le Marin Blanc'(Marsanne /Roussanne / Viognier), our most recent release, will be featured on BBC1's Saturday Kitchen program this Saturday- 22nd May, 2010. The host Olly Smith suggests pairing it with Cod cheeks, chorizo and chick peas!

- May 18th, 2010- Domaine Sainte Rose is delighted to announce that it received a Bronze Medal in the Decanter World Wine Awards 2010 for its 2009 La Nuit Blanche / Barrel Selection Roussanne.

- May 18th, 2010- Domaine Sainte Rose is delighted to announce that it received a Commended Medal in the International Wine Challenge awards 2010 for its 2009 La Nuit Blanche / Barrel Selection Roussanne.

- May 6th, 2010- The Barrel Selection Roussanne 2008 gets selected in the Top 100 wines of the London International Wine Fair 2010 picked by The Wine Gang!

- May 6th, 2010- Domaine Sainte Rose opens its Facebook site.

-May 1st, 2010- Le Coq D'Oc White wins an award and is a finalist in the 14th Concours des Vins Blancs de Sainte-Aphrodise.  The final tasting will take place at Vinopolis in London on 30th June, 2010.

- April 15th, 2010- Wine Dinner with the Royal Irish Yacht Club, Dublin, Ireland.

- April 14th, 2010- Wine Dinner at O'Brien's Chop House, Lismore, Ireland. 

- March 15th, 2010- Domaine Sainte Rose Barrel Selection Roussanne makes it to film!

 

- February 22nd- 24th, 2010- Domaine Sainte Rose exhibits at Vinisud in Montpellier.

- February 21st, 2010- The Barrel Selection Roussanne 2008 is written-up by Olly Smith in The Mail on Sunday.  "The bigness of this wine comes from its texture...the result is brilliant: round, soft texture with smoky touches thanks to partial barrel fermentation. It's a top wine to match with creamy and even mildly spicy dishes, but I love it best alongside pork chops!" Olly Smith, The Mail on Sunday, 21 February 2010.

-January 9th, 2010- The Barrel Selection Roussanne 2008 received a rave review from Matthew Jukes' in his 9th January wine column.  "...wines that will lead the way for this year's wine trends.  Unusual grape varieties will continue to amaze us.  This white has so much bravado that it can tackle roast chicken, roast pork and any fish dish.  There is oak, honeysuckle and mandarin throughout its heroic length."

- January 1st, 2010- Happy New Year from all of us at Sainte Rose.

2009

- 24th November, 2009- Slide show of pictures from around the Domaine.

- 30th September, 2009- Domaine Sainte Rose picks its first crop Mouvedre.  This is the last variety to come in and the end of the 2009 vintage.  Thanks to all those who helped make this such and exceptional vintage!

-15th September, 2009- Domaine Sainte Rose brings in the final parcel of Syrah.

-12th September, 2009- Domaine Sainte Rose picks its Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache and first crop Petit Verdot.

-10th September, 2009- Domaine Sainte Rose picks additional Roussanne and Syrah.

- 10th September, 2009- Domaine Sainte Rose La Nuit Blanche / Barrel Selection Roussanne features in the Decanter World Wine Awards publication.  "Floral aromatic buttery toast, hints of tropical fruit.  Clean fruit, soft, white flowers with a hint of well-integrated oak."  Decanter Magazine, October Issue.

-3rd September, 2009- Domaine Sainte Rose begins to pick its Roussanne.

-31st August, 2009- Domaine Sainte Rose picks the rest of its Merlot and some Syrah.

-24th August, 2009- Domaine Sainte Rose picks the rest of its Sauvignon Blanc and 1st crop Marsanne.

-21st August, 2009- Domaine Sainte Rose picks Sauvignon Blanc, 1st crop Viognier, Muscat and some Merlot.

-15th August, 2009- Good with Game!  La Garrigue 2007 appears in Jane Macquitty's Times article on pairing wine with game.  Jane recommends La Garrigue with grouse or wild duck.  "...my vote goes to the latter's [Languedoc] strong, spicy, chocolate and black pepper-scented Domaine Sainte Rose La Garrigue."

-13th August, 2009- The 2009 Vintage starts with Chardonnay and a subsequent picking on 16th, August!

- 8th August, 2009- Le Vent du Nord 2007 is recommended by Rose Murray Brown of The Scotsman.  "Honeyed creamy apricot fruits, crisp, light, Languedoc quaffer!"

-1st August, 2009- The Barrel Selection Roussanne 2008 received a rave review from Olly Smith of The Mail, 1st August 2009.  "Impeccable wine with a creamy texture and a toasty edge.  ...Charles and Ruth Simpson have created this splendid winner in the Languedoc.  It is rich, toasty and peachy.  A glorious wine."

-11th July, 2009- The 2007 La Garrigue is picked by Jane Macquitty in her list of Top 100 Summer Wines. Saturday Times Magazine.  "Charles and Ruth Simpson left Blighty to make wine at their Languedoc Estate and almost every one has been a winner.  This Garrigue, named after the pine and herb-scented scrub of southern France, is made from the estate's mostly 50-year-old syrah and grenache grapes.  Enjoy this gorgeous, hefty, peppery, garrigue-scented wine with barbecued red meats."

-23rd May, 2009- Olly Smith recommends the Barrel Selection Roussanne with Pandhi Curry on the BBC's Saturday Kitchen.  Click here for the recipe.

- May, 2009- Domaine Sainte Rose picks up 3 awards for the 2007 Le Vent du Nord, 2007 La Garrigue and 2008 Barrel Selection Roussanne/ La Nuit Blanche Roussanne in the International Wine Competition.
