BRIEF BIOGRAPHY

Charles Simpson

After an international upbringing in the UK, New Zealand and the USA Charles graduated from Michigan State University(USA) with a degree in International Marketing. This qualification led to a successful business career within the Pharmaceutical industry, which involved working for two of the largest Pharmaceutical companies in the world, Merck and GlaxoSmithKline. Charles’ success at a young age included a role as Country Manager for the former Soviet Republics of Azerbaijan and Georgia. His final role was as Commercial Director of the International Division for the newly merged GlaxoSmithKline. Charles brings a wealth of business and general management experience to this new wine business venture.

Ruth Simpson

Ruth comes from a well-known drinks industry family, being a fifth generation descendant of William Grant.  Ruth graduated from St. Andrews University(Scotland) with a degree in International Relations and subsequently gained extensive international experience within the humanitarian sector. Her roles have included responsibility for public relations, programme management and international grants assessment. In order to learn more about the wine industry, Ruth has been studying Wine Marketing via the online course offered by the University of South Australia. Ruth brings communication and creative skills to this new wine business venture.

Collectively Ruth and Charles have travelled to many of the wine producing countries of the world including Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada, Italy, France, Spain and Georgia! Their decision to choose the Languedoc was based on months of research into the opportunities offered by this up-and-coming area.
