Between the Black Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea in the Languedoc region of southern France lies Domaine de Sainte Rose. The mountains and the sea, or ‘montagnes et mer’, dictate the weather in this region, which in turn affects the vineyards of Sainte Rose. The majority of the fresh, lively Sauvignon Blanc juice went through traditional fermentation in stainless steel tanks however a small percentage underwent fermentation in one-year-old French oak barrels previously used to age the rich, luxurious Roussanne variety. A tiny amount of aromatic Muscat was then added to the blend resulting in a crisp and rather unique Sauvignon, which also shows length and finesse.

Les Montagnes et Mer press quotes:

"A tiny amount of aromatic Muscat is added to the wine resulting in a crisp and rather unique Sauvignon, which also shows roundness and finesse.  One the palate it is crisp and fresh with a longish finish.  Ideal for Seafood, or try with goats' cheese."   November, 2008 James Nicholson Wine Merchant.
